On 1 March, we celebrated God’s
blessings upon ACS for the past 130
years at a Thanksgiving Service.
Gracing
the occasion was Guest-of-Honour BG
(Ret) Jek Kian Yee, a distinguished old
boy of the school and former President’s
Scholar and SAF scholar. Having served
in the RSAF for 20 years and retired as
the Head of Military Security Department,
BG (Ret) Jek currently serves actively in our
school library where he initiates various
reading programmes for the students. In
his speech, he encouraged the students
to persevere in their learning and grow in
character.
Awards for Outstanding Academic
Performance in various classes, subjects
and PSLE were presented to the recipients,
and also Long Service Awards to ten
members of staff for their dedicated
service.
When the service came to an end,
everyone rose to sing our beloved School
Anthem, accompanied by the wonderful
combined musical efforts of the choir, band
and string ensembles.
A lovely tea reception followed. There was
happy and warm fellowship among all
who were present. Such is the ACS spirit
that continues from year to year.
