Students, parents and Old Boys rallied around on
Teachers’ Day to pay tribute to our teachers, past and present.
Gestures of appreciation
to the teachers who made a difference in our lives were
demonstrated in various ways.
The ACS OBA organised a party
which was attended by 70 retired principals, vice-principals,
teachers and staff, while students and parents put in tremendous
time and effort to honour the teachers in fun and entertaining
ways. Below are some of the highlights:

Once again,
the ACS OBA hosted a party for
retired teachers and staff at the
ACS (Barker Road) Sports Complex on
01September. It was great catching
up with more than 70 retired
principals and teachers who turned
up for the event - some arriving
with the aid of walking stick and
one in a wheelchair.
The guests
were in a buoyant mood as they
mingled with each other and with the
old boys to reminisce and exchange
fond memories of what ACS was like
“in days of yore”.
Among the many teachers who
came were the “icons” of
years gone by in the persons
of Mr Khoo Boo Gay, Mr
Earnest Lau, Mr Goh Chin
Chye, Mr Wee Teow Kee and Mr
Wan Fook Weng, to name a
few.
The Class of 1960 added
to the celebratory mood of the event by
presenting a cake in honour of the
teachers. It was a gesture very much
appreciated by our former teachers.
