123rd ACS Founder's Day

Unveiling of "Smiley" Icon at ACJC

Founder’s Day celebrations this year was held on 27 February with His Excellency Mr Paul Madden, British High Commissioner as the Guest-of-Honour. The celebrations and Thanksgiving Service truly reminded us very much of tradition – be it through the message to follow in Oldham’s example, or through the re-installation of past icons that we were associated with. Apart from speeches and the unveiling of the newly painted “Smiley” icon, the outstanding performance of the 2007 cohort at the A Levels and the 2009 cohort at their JC1 Promotional Examinations were recognised via a prize presentation.

In his message, His Excellency Mr Paul Madden encouraged the students to follow Bishop Oldham’s example by reaching out to those who do not have the same opportunities we enjoy. His message, punctuated by witty references, made an indelible mark on the audience present. .
