Halfway
around the world, 40 ACSians gathered at The Phoenix Palace
Restaurant in the heart of London to commemorate their alma
mater’s 123rd Founder’s Day. Predictably, the singing of the
ACS Anthem rekindled fond memories of school days and led to
the spontaneous sharing of anecdotes and experiences over a
sumptuous 8-course dinner.
Among those present at
the dinner were Mr Lawrence Ang, a former teacher in
both ACJC and ACS (Independent), and several young ladies
from the first batch of International Baccalaureate students
from ACS (Independent) who were attending the event for the
first time.
According to Ms
Melissa Woo, currently pursuing a degree in economics at
the University College London, “I feel very welcomed to
the ACS family in the UK. It is heartening to know that
there is such a closely-knitted community of ACSians in
London”.
