ACS (Junior) organised a gamut of activities over the last two weeks of Term 2 to give its students a glimpse of what they could expect
at the SEA Games 2015.
SEA Games Athletes’ Sharing Session
SEA Games athletes Bryan Ng (Rugby), Colin Cheng (Sailing)
and Joseph Schooling (Swimming), all old boys of ACS (Junior),
visited the school and shared their training and competition
experiences, the values they have learnt and their expectations
and goals for the upcoming SEA Games. It was an inspiring
sharing session for the boys who must be delighted to learn later
that Bryan bagged a Bronze, Colin a Gold and a Silver, and
Joseph 9 Golds at the Games!
Lega-SEA Drama Skit
On 15 May, the lower primary boys watched a skit put together
by the Sea Games Organising Committee to create awareness
of the SEA Games and that sports can be fun. With Nila, the
official Sea Games mascot making a grand appearance, the
boys were thoroughly entertained and showed much interest in
the sporting event.
SEA Games Videos
Over the course of a fortnight, 15-minute videos of Singapore
athletes and various sports such as football, rugby and
swimming were shown during the pre-assembly timeslot to
generate interest amongst the boys. The boys were deeply
inspired by the motivational videos of the athletes and it was
clear that they were eager to catch the athletes in action at the
Games.
SEA Games @ Recess
ACS (Junior) created a
modified version of the SEA
games that were challenging
and exciting for the boys
to test out their hand-eye
coordination skills. It was
indeed heartening to see so
many boys participating and
better yet, to see the boys
displaying sportsmanship
and fair play. Through the
games, the boys understood
the importance of Friendship,
Excellence and Respect.
