Following cocktails, the evening’s programme started with the singing of the school anthem. Suresh then welcomed everyone, after which
Tan See Keng (Class of 1979) led us with grace.
Dinner was a delicious spread of finger food cocktails, beef rending, barramundi fish fried in nyonya sambal, assorted vegetables and rice with pulot hitam and profiteroles for dessert.
Guests were seated in tok panjang (long table) style and there was much interaction, sharing anecdotes of the years spent in ACS, recalling events past as if they had occurred only recently!
A special item had been prepared for the evening by
Quek Joo Meng (Class of1976), our IT expert. Entitled, A Montage of Memories, the slide presentation took the guests down memory lane with pictures of beloved staff members like Mr Earnest Lau, Mr Lim Peng Ann, Mr Lee Hah Ing and others. Amidst expressions of recognition from the audience, the slides also featured the ACS auditorium, the school tuckshop and the quadrangle, among other sites of ACS past and present.
The evening ended with all present being captured in a group photograph and fond farewells exchanged with a promise to meet again next year for the ACS Alumni Dinner.
