Follow your Dreams
- Dr Ng Eng Hen urges ACSians
At ACJC, the Guest-of-Honour, Dr. Ng Eng Hen,
Minister for Manpower and 2nd Minister of Defence and an old boy
of ACS, called on ACSians to continue in the vein of the college's
tradition by stepping up to positions of leadership in our
society.
Naming ACJC a "crucible where values are forged and
visions stimulated", he urged all students to succeed where their
dreams and passions might lead them. The Minister also inspired
the students to adopt a spirit of service to others and to make a
difference.
Sharing news of ACJC's many achievements in 2005,
ACJC Principal Mrs. Kelvyna Chan gave special mention to
outstanding graduands, such Brandon Seah Kwee Boon, the top
student of 2004 with 8 distinctions and winner of the Khoo Teck
Khee award. She also disclosed the good news that two ACJC
students had done exceedingly well to achieve 9 distinctions in
the 2005 A Level Examinations. This roused the college to
wholehearted cheers and anticipation palpably, for the results for
the A Level exams were to be released later that very day!
Much of the proceedings were devoted to awarding
recognition to students who had excelled in the GCE 'A' Examinations
2004 and the top achievers of the JC1 Promotional Examinations 2005.
As generations of ACSians stood to sing the soaring hymns and school
anthem, many a heart was left touched by the mercy and faithfulness
of the Lord for the many good years.
On this happy occasion, the students and guests also
witnessed the site dedication of the Centre for Performing Arts,
which is another milestone in ACJC's arts culture.
