For the first time, the Chapter fielded in
a team comprising students and former
students of ACJC and ACS (Independent)
in the Youth Division of the Hockey Liga
Tournament in 2016. It was heartening to
see players from different cohorts coming
together, meeting and playing with each
other for the first time, all in the name of
camaraderie and the spirit of sports.

														The Seniors participated
														in the Men’s Liga
														Division which saw the
														return of several
														players who had
														previously represented
														the National team in the
														Asian Games. As in the
														past, we also had
														players who were not
														from the ACS family of
														schools joining us and
														soaking in the Oldham
														spirit. With their
														participation, and
														involvement, the Seniors
														finished the competition
														as runners-up.

The main focus of the Hockey Chapter
in 2016 was the participation in the
National Hockey League Division 4.
Having narrowly missed out on the finals
and the automatic promotion place last
year, the players were keen to make
amends and improve on their final standing.
It was with this in mind the every member
gave it their all in the course of the season,
and their effort was duly rewarded with a
silver medal and promotion to National
Hockey League 3 next season. But looking
beyond the results, the team also included
current schoolboys in the squad who less
than a year ago had not even played the
game. It is this spirit of encouragement,
mentorship and support that will keep the
Chapter going from strength to strength in
the coming years
