ACS
(Independent) led the way to come up tops with two world titles
(Under-20 Problem 3 & Under-15 Problem 5). This brings the total
number of OM world titles it has won to 11, which is the highest
number earned by any school in the world.
Pushing their
minds and imagination to their limits, our boys wowed the audience and
judges with their verve and wit. All performances received standing
ovations and laudatory comments from the judges, which is truly a feat
as it is an international competition with high standards.
Giving full
marks to her charges, one of the teacher–coaches, Ms Vijitha Ranjee,
said: “Our boys did exceptionally well to gain international
recognition for their creativity and teamwork. But more importantly,
they have forged unbreakable bonds of friendship and realized that
everything is achievable with determination, resourcefulness and trust
in God”.
For the
participating students, the achievement was just a fleeting glory.
What was more important to them were the values learnt from the entire
OM experience that forged camaraderie and lifetime friendships. They
owe their success to excellent teamwork and especially to the full
support and inspiration from the Senior Administration, the teachers
and student coaches, and their parents.
