A Destiny of 60 and on to 50
What a strange title and yet it was the day when those from the
ACS Class of 75 born in 1959 celebrated a milestone year at
the Pyramid Club on August 17.
150 of us arrived at the Club that evening to have a date with
destiny on reaching 60. It was a celebratory mood throughout,
and no one really cared about where they sat because they
gravitated on retrospection and just feeling the years roll
right back in on a feel-good conversation. Handshakes, loud
greetings, back slapping and hugs were the order of the evening.
There was only 2.5 hours to catch up and it just felt like class with
no teachers and hence the true essence of boyish behaviours
with some insane conversations and confirmations of characters
that never changed.
As the photos suggest, some of us are a fatter lot with far
lesser hair but we never lacked for nonstop chatting and great
fellowship. Time indeed stood still for a while as we caught up
with each other. There was a silent moment as we paid tribute
to those who have passed on, but we never forgot.
And why are we rolling on to 50? Because we took back 10
years that night. We were young all over again.
To GOD be the Glory! The Best Is Yet To Be.
