Since it was initiated by the ACS OBA in 2004, the Retired ACS Teachers’ Dinner has been a much anticipated annual event for the alumni. This year, many turned up on 1 September at the Tan Chin Tuan Sports Hall in ACS (Barker Road) to connect with and to pay tribute to the teachers who once shaped their lives.

This year’s highlights included performances by Chain Reaction, a band comprising a group of ACSians (they were formerly known as Chain ReACSians), a yummy buffet spread sponsored by Mr Tang Weng Fei and lots of fun and laughter at the popular photo-taking booth.

But what was surely the surprise of the evening were the impromptu performances of three teachers, Mr Fong Seng Ngiap, Mrs Lee Gek Kim and Mrs Yeo Soo Pio, who sportingly went on stage to sing for us. It was a revelation for many of the alumni to discover the hidden talents of their teachers.

Thanks to the untiring efforts of the ACS OBA Management Committee and everyone who contributed in one way or other to make the evening such a success; they include The Super Group (Super Coffee), the Elite Dental Group (discount vouchers), Jerry Lim of JP Pepperdine, Lim Tat, Oon Jin Gee, En Lee, Wong Heng Yu, Jonathan Yuen, Joy-marie Toh and members of the Oldham Club.
