The Pre-U Arts A Class of 74 has been able
to meet up regularly either in small groups
or as a whole class over the years, showing
that in ACS, we keep our friendships for life!
On 12 August 2016, even as the National
Day celebration was in the air, we met up
again and had a merry time catching up
with each other and our teachers.
It all started with the mega meet-up of the
entire Class of 74 cohort and our teachers
at the NUS Alumni Club in March 2014
to commemorate our 40th anniversary and
the years of friendship. Catching up was so
enriching and the Arts A Class captured the
moment with old friends promising to keep
in touch. We met again at Yee Yee’s place
in May the same year and since then, we
have managed to meet every year.
In August 2015, Ronald hosted us to a
lovely dinner and we even managed to
invite our dear Math teacher Mr Loi. This
year, Kim Li opened her home and more
than 20 of us shared what had happened
the past year.
This wonderful yearly practice
is so precious that some of us even planned
our home visit from overseas just to be
present at the reunion.
This year, two of our teachers – Mrs Chelvah
Rajah (Ms Sim when she was our teacher)
and Mrs Lee Gek Kim – were able to join
us. Credit to the teaching profession that
our teachers looked as young (and even
younger) than their students. Despite our
widening frames and grey hair (or no hair),
it was easy to see the 18-year-old in all
of us. At the end of the evening, the ACS
anthem was sung with much gesto – our
ACS Forever!
