After more than 30 years, the Class of 1984
gathered in Misaki Japanese Restaurant at
Marina Bay Financial Centre for a great
evening of nostalgia and fellowship.
Word of the event spread through a
WhatsApp group started by John and Hock
Keng; participants in the group included
classmates overseas who could not be with us
for the event. With just the verbal commitment
from the members in the group, the event was
organised without much difficulty.
On 22 July 2016, old classmates, some of
whom have not seen each other for more than
30 years, made their way to the restaurant
and we had a blast of a time with Depeche
Mode as well as other 80s classics playing
in the in-house PA.
Thanks to Jeremy who managed to borrow
the school flag, we had the flag displayed at
the entrance of the restaurant. This resulted in
curious ACSians from other cohorts working
in MBFC ‘gate-crashing’ to find out what
was going on and in true ACS Spirit, we
invited them for a beer as well! Also thanks
to Terence who said grace before we tucked
into the buffet.
Whilst reminiscing over good old times as
well as laughing ourselves silly over the 好
学生 magazine pranks we played before it
was banned, we all agreed that we should
meet up more often and perhaps make this
into an annual affair.
