It was the night after Valentine’s Day, and the year of the
Rat had just begun. While all the rats were asleep, a cry
went out to the Snake Gang of ACSS '81 cohort to
gather for a time of celebration and merriment at the
rat-hole - NUSSU Guild House @ Suntec!
The Snake Gang (of 1965) appeared from every corner of
Singapore, many from as far as China. There was so much
catching up to do over drinks and food as conversations
drifted from the casual ‘hello’ to iGallop, Government
policies and business ideas. We only wished that time could
stand still because there were many others that we'd like to
spend more time with. But all too soon, it was time to bid
farewells.
It was obvious that the Snake Gang value the friendships
made in school and made every attempt to be present. One
member even tried to join us although he had a family event
to attend but unfortunately we had to turn him down as it
was nearing bed-time for the Snake Gang. A father made a
special effort to be present although he had to drive his
son to Malaysia for a Rugby match early the next morning.
Those who were unable to attend sent messages from all over
the world, wishing they could be present; they included
Wei Siong, one of the organizers, who had to travel
abroad.
Although there were some hiccups and challenges, the
get-together turned out to a great success – thanks to the
organizing committee. A big thank you goes to Wei Siong
and Gordon for putting in so much effort to
consolidate the responses and attending to the nitty-gritty
aspects of the event; special thanks also go to those made
the special effort to be present. After such a memorable
evening, it is no wonder that the call to gather more often
was greeted with much enthusiasm.
It will not be long before we meet again but meantime, we
would like invite the Snake Gang to stay in touch through
our ‘blog at:

Informal
Presidents Circle
An Informal Presidents Circle has been formed to provide all
Past Presidents of the ACS Old Boys’ Association (OBA) with a
platform to continue serving the ACS family. This move was
initiated by the OBA’s Management Committee which felt that Past
Presidents are a valuable resource and a huge talent pool to tap
for ideas and solutions on important issues relating to our
schools and the OBA.
Dr
Ang Peng Tiam (right), the immediate Past President, has
agreed to chair this Informal Presidents Circle.
