1968 Cohorts – 36 Years and Still Friends!

The tie that binds ACSians is indeed amazing.  Just this year alone, cohorts from the Secondary 4 Class of 1968 have met not once, not twice, but three times!

The first was on 06 February, when a group of us gathered for dinner at Beng Hiang Restaurant in Amoy Street. It was an apt choice of venue as the it is just a stone’s throw from 70 Amoy Street where ACS was founded in 1886.

Within a month on 01 March, which happened to be the ACS Founder’s Day, a bigger group met at the Shangri-La Hotel Coffee House.  At this get together, our overseas friends, Eddy Fong from UK and Daniel Howe from Vancouver, joined us.

On 05 July, we managed to gather about 50 of us for dinner at the Blue Bar Bistro within a week's notice of our overseas friends returning. We had a great time celebrating the joyous occasion with Alan Toh from Hawaii, Simon Chu from Scotland, Daniel Howe from Vancouver and Peter Wang from the Philippines.  After dinner, Alan entertained the group with a solo item.

The 1968 cohort group has now a 162 strong email group, which is expanding. It hopes to have a grand reunion next March when more cohorts stationed overseas can join in the celebrations.  At the invitation of the 1967 cohorts, it is also planning a joint get-together with the Classes of 1967 and 1969.
