Since the platform for social and emotional interaction with
our retired ACS teachers and staff was initiated by a group of
appreciative Old Boys and Old Girls a year ago, five gatherings
and outings of various sizes have already taken place.
To kick-off 2019 and also to celebrate its first anniversary, the
group organised a pre-Lunar New Year lunch on February 2
for about 50 of our beloved mentors at the New Ubin Seafood
restaurant. Among the guests gracing the occasion were the Rev
Dr Gordon Wong, President of Trinity Annual Conference, and
Mr Richard Seow, Chairman of the ACS Board of Governors.
Judging from the animated exchanges, laughter and noise level,
it was evident everyone had a good time catching up with each
other and renewing old friendships.
According to Mr Wan Fook Weng, the driving force behind
the regular gatherings for the retired teachers, “We are happy
with the good turnout which is the largest so far. For this year,
we hope to plan a total of six more gatherings and hope to
garner more volunteers to come forward to help with financing
and logistics. If you wish to come on board to join our team in
touching the lives of our mentors, please contact me (c/o 502
