Ushering In The Lunar New Year Of The Dog |
The camaraderie that binds ACSians together is a trait that many other schools envy and wished to have. The bond between them is
so strong that after being separated by time and distance, friendships that were developed in school are often rekindled immediately
whenever they meet, as if it was only yesterday that they bade farewell to the alma mater.

The Lunar New Year festive period is an excuse for cohorts to meet and this year, a record
number of 156 from the Dragons Class of ACS 1980 gathered at Big Street Restaurant
on February 21 to usher in the Year of the Dog. According to Wong Look Liew, the
organiser of the event, “This was our 4th consecutive Lunar New Year gathering, and it
is encouraging that attendance surpassed the 59, 99 and 148 for the previous years.
Camaraderie and friendship prevailed as many schoolboy tales and incidents were
replayed in every grouping, and the passionate rendition of the ACS anthem outside
the restaurant epitomized the strong school spirit in us”.
The party lasted till late and some even adjourned for local teh tarik to further prolong
the wonderful blessed evening.
