Cheo Chai Hong
(President)
Chai Hong (ACS Class of 1968) is Managing
Director, Head Corporate Planning
and International Strategy. He holds
a Bachelor of Business
Administration (Hons) from the
University of Singapore and has more
than 30 years of experience in
corporate banking, relationship
management and credit approval. He
is currently an OBA representative
on the
ACS
BOG and chairs the Sports
Sub-Committee of the ACS OBA
Management Committee; he is also the
current Honorary Secretary of the
Singapore Rugby Union. Chai Hong is
married to Elaine, an old girl from
MGS.

Joy-marie
Toh (2nd Vice
President)
Joy-marie, ACJC Class of ’91, is the
General Manager of the Anglo-Chinese
Schools Foundation. She is the
Second Vice President of the ACS OBA
Management Committee and a member of
the Methodist Girls’ School (MGS)
Alumnae Association Committee. A
fifth generation ACSian, Joy-marie
was on the Executive Committee of
the 15th Students’ Council in ACJC
and active in the ACJC Drama Club.
Joy-marie was previously an
Executive Director at Goldman, Sachs
& Co. in Hong Kong where she was
responsible for Marketing
Communications for the Goldman Sachs
Investment Management Division in
Asia ex-Japan (AEJ).

Chandra Mohan Rethnam
(PBM) (Honorary Secretary)
Chandra is a
partner in the law firm, Rajah &
Tann LLP. A true blue ACSian - ACPS
(1974), ACS (1978) and ACJC (1980),
he has served the ACS OBA since
1991, holding the position of
Honorary Secretary from 1995 to 2005
and from 2007 to date. Chandra did
his first law degree in NUS and
subsequently his LLM in the
University of Cambridge. He also
serves on the ACS Board of Governors
and the Board of ACS
(International).

Rayson Seow
(Assistant Honorary Secretary)
Rayson (ACS Class
of 75) is a Financial Services
Manager with Prudential where he
leads a team of financial
consultants. A devout Christian and
avid footballer, he organises
outreach events through football for
the Sports Coalition Singapore,
Christian Sports Club, the Bible
Society and the Methodist Welfare
Services. Rayson is married with a
daughter aged 23 and a son aged 17.
His son is studying in ACJC

Mervyn Lim
(Honorary Treasurer)
Mervyn (Pre-U Class
of 76), the CFO and Executive
Director of Solar Silicon Resources
Group, is no newcomer to the ACS OBA
as he has served on the committee
before. An ACS thoroughbred, he
enjoyed the final years of
pre-university education in ACS
Barker Road before this was replaced
by ACJC. Mervyn is married to
Serena, an old girl from MGS; they
have three boys - Shaun (13) the
youngest is studying in ACS (Barker)
while his brothers Mark (18) and
Nicholas (16) are in the Singapore
American School.

Lim Tat
(Assistant Honorary Treasurer)
Tat (ACS Class of
’79 & ACJC Class of ‘81) is the
managing partner of a law firm.
He holds an MBA/LLM and MSc
(Construction Law and Arbitration)
from NUS and King’s College London.
He currently serves on the
Board of Management of ACS
(Independent).
Tat is married to Angeline.
They have 2 boys (ACS
(Independent) and ACS (Primary)) and
a girl (MGS).

Lim Jen Howe
(Committee Member)
Jen Howe is a
partner of Thong & Lim, a local
accounting and auditing company. He
schooled in ACS, from ACPS right
through to ACSS (‘O’ Level Class of
69 and ‘A’ Level Class of 71), and
has been actively involved in the
ACS OBA since the early 1990s. Jen
Howe is an ACS OBA representative on
the ACS Board of Governors. He also
served on the ACS (Independent)
Board of Management from 1993 to
2009.

Oon Jin Gee
(Committee Member)
A two-time Olympian, Jin Gee
is a grateful beneficiary of an ACS
education (ACPS, ACSS & ACJC).
He is a strategic vendor
manager with a multinational
infocomm organisation and also
volunteers with the Singapore
National Olympic Council, Singapore
Swimming Association and National
Anti-Doping Advisory Board
Singapore.
He and his wife, Li-Min (an
MGS alumnus), have two sons, Darren
and Colin, who are presently in ACS.
Jin Gee firmly believes in
the ACS brand of a holistic
education and hopes to further the
OneACS cause through service.

Phang Kien Yip
(Committee Member)
Kien Yip is the
founder of Bronco Media House, a TV
and film production company in
Singapore. Prior to this, he was
with a multi-national company as a
research engineer before he ventured
out to pursue his passion for film
making 12 years ago. He schooled in
ACPS, ACSS and ACJC (Class of 1985)
before furthering his studies at
Nanyang Technological University; he
also obtained his Masters from the
National University of Singapore.
Kien Yip is married to Geraldine.

David Tan Hsien Yung
(Committee Member)
David (ACJS Class of
1990, ACS Class of 1994 and ACJC Class
of 1996) is a Family Physician in a
government polyclinic. A graduate from
medical school in NUS, he is also
involved in undergraduate and
postgraduate medical education. David
hopes to contribute to the ACS OBA
Management Committee and he hopes to see
more of the younger ACSians connected
through the various portals. He is
married to his secondary school
sweetheart and they have two daughters.

En Lee
(Committee Member)
En (ACS Class of
1990 and ACJC Class of 1992) is a
Director at Impact Investment
Exchange Asia. Previously, En was an
Executive Director of Goldman Sachs
in Hong Kong and a Corporate
Associate with Freshfields Bruckhaus
Deringer in London.
In school, he actively served
as a prefect, student counsellor,
scout and in athletics. Having
returned to Singapore from over two
decades overseas, En is honoured to
serve the ACS family once again. En
holds a Bachelor of Laws degree
(First Class Honours) from the
University of Leicester, UK.

Timothy Chew
(Co-opted Member)
Timothy (ACS Pre-U
Class of 62) is ACS through and
through, from Primary and Secondary
schools to Pre-University, and
continuing to be of service to the
Alma Mater. He has sat on various
ACS boards, including the ACS Board
of Governors, and is probably the
ACS OBA Committee’s longest serving
member. An Associate of the
Chartered Insurance Institute, he
owns an insurance agency. Timothy is
married to Pauline and they have two
grown up children.

Ong Tek Khoan
(Co-opted Member)
As Managing Director of Templeton
Asset Management, Tek Khoan
helps to oversee the management of
assets invested across emerging
markets. An ACSian – ACPS, ACSS and
ACJC (Class of 79) - he went on to
Imperial College, London where he
graduated with BSC (Eng) Honours and
MSc degrees in 1984 and 1985
respectively. In 1993, he also
earned a MBA with Distinction degree
from Wharton School, University of
Pennsylvania. Tek Khoan is married
to Yew Khuan and his two sons are
studying in ACS (Independent) and
ACS (Primary).
