Following the ACS tradition, the senior year of 1963
held its "Forty Years On" reunion dinner at The
Tanglin Club on 06 March 2003. The event was a huge
success, as about a hundred old boys and teachers
gathered for a memorable evening of camaraderie and fun.
The occasion, which was graced by former principals,
Mr Lee Hah Ing, Mr Chee Keng Lim and
Mr Earnest Lau, was indeed nostalgic for many of
the old students as they renewed friendships and 'looked
back and forgetfully wonder what they wer like in their
work and their play". Some have not seen each other
since leaving school forty years ago, and if not for the
name tags provided, they would not have recognised each
other!
Other highlights of the evening included entertainment
by two live bands and a video presentation of old
photographs and other memorabilia that brought back lots
of pleasant memories.
To the organisers of this very successful event, which
took one and a half years to organise, the biggest
challenge was locating the many old boys who have
dispersed to the four corners of the globe. Although
many living overseas were contacted and flew long
distances to attend the reunion, there were still some
who could not be located.
If you happen to be an old boy of the year of 1963 and
missed this reunion, please contact Philip Beng (email:
philp.beng@daimlerchrysler.com) if you wish to be
included in the next reunion in ten years time, or
perhaps sooner!
