The friendships forged in ACS seem everlasting as evident in the incredible camaraderie the binds ACSians together. Even years after leaving school, they continue to keep in touch, be it over coffee or for a meal, at regular karaoke sessions and annual class reunions, or even overseas trips together. In fact, ACSians would find any excuse they can find just for the opportunity to walk down memory lane and strengthen friendships.
And what better excuse is there than to toss for good luck at a ‘lo hei’ lunch during the Chinese Lunar New Year!
This Lunar New Year, the 1959 and 1960 cohorts held their annual ‘lo hei’ lunches on 02 and 03 February respectively. By coincidence, the venue for both events was the River Palace at River View Hotel but not by chance, the scrumptious 8-course menu each cohort ordered was identical as it was expertly arranged through the good offices of
Richard Tan (Class of ’60), the hotel’s former F&B Director. Richard flew in from Perth, Western Australia where he now resides in; another overseas buddy present at the Class of 60’s lunch was
Tony Hardy from the UK.
