On 7 January 2011 morning, over 400 teaching and administrative staff from all six ACS schools gathered at Barker Road Methodist Church for the annual Staff Dedication Service.
In his address, Mr Richard Seow, Chairman of the ACS Board of Governors, thanked the teachers for their hard work and devotion in helping the students to not only achieve remarkable academic results but also in preparing them for the world. He reminded all not to be too fixated on examination results but to stay true to our mission and help each student fulfill his or her maximum potential and in doing so, help nurture the next generation of servant leaders for our community.
It was also a special service for Bishop Dr Robert Solomon as
this would be his last year as Bishop of the Methodist Church in
Singapore. His parting message to ACS teachers was to hold on to
the Sacred Task that God has given each one of us. He also urged
us to take the time to know our charges and to do the work that God
has given to each one of us
The formal yet intimate service ended with a tea reception where the teachers and Administrative staff of the ACS schools had a rare opportunity to mingle and catch up with each other.
