a meaningful and memorable get-together for the
ACS family

service with a warm welcome to all members of
the ACS staff.
Rev Barnabas Chong, Chaplain of
ACS (Junior), leading the audience in a plethora of
hymns.
In his address,
Mr Richard Seow, Chairman of the ACS
Board of Governors, highlighted the key issues
of the recent financial crisis and its impact on
the socio-economic condition in both the local
and global contexts, and emphasised the need for
teachers to play an active role in identifying
students who are in need of financial aid to
continue their education particularly in times
of economic uncertainty. Mr Seow also spoke of
the Mentorship programme which is in the
pipeline.
Leading in the
Meditation session, Bishop Dr Robert Solomon
emphasised the need for teachers to exercise compassion
and understanding to their students and to love them
accordingly. He also addressed the need for teachers to
carry out their responsibilities for the common good of
the school and community.
Following a prayer for the
ACS Family of Schools by Rev Kenneth Huang, the
ACS (Independent) Choir gave a beautiful
rendition of the hymn, ‘Anthem: Benedictus’.
After the affirmation of the
Teachers’ Oath and prayer for the ACS teachers,
the service ended with the benediction and the
singing of the ACS anthem. Rev. Paul Nga
then led grace for the wonderful reception that
awaited all the ACS Staff at the IB block at the
end of the service.
