Indeed, it was an evening of great food, fun and
fellowship as 92 ACSians of the Pre-university
class of 1962/1963 met at HORT Park on 7
November 2008 for our 45th Reunion Dinner.
Although some looked different from the time we
were students in ACS at Barker Road – more
rounded and less or no hair, we were still
unmistakably ACSians who loved a good time
together. The dining room was filled with
conversation as there was just so much to talk
about! Some have not seen each other for 45
years. The evening was made even more memorable
with entertainment by our talented Eric Lee who
crooned his way to our hearts (the ladies, of
course) with numbers like “Moon River” as well
as his special rendition of Elvis Presley songs.
Ronnie Neo left us in stitches in his role as
emcee for the evening. We were honoured by the
presence of Mr Lim Choon Mong, who amazed us
with his physical and mental vitality in his
advanced age.
Some had come all the way from Ipoh, Kuala
Lumpur and as far as Vancouver, London, Virginia
and Melbourne to meet up with former classmates
and to catch up on the years that had passed by.
All agreed that the trip, whether from far or
near was well worth it as the evening left us
with many fond memories of our days in ACS.
We left that evening looking forward to the next
re-union in five years’ time and thanking John
Lee Choon Soo and his team for a job well done
in getting us together for an evening which we
will cherish for a long time yet.
