Members of the ACS OBA
Management Committee had dinner with Tan Sri Tan Chin Tuan and
family on 24 November 2004.
Over the sumptuous
dinner, Tan Sri Tan was appraised of the various activities and
challenges facing the ACS OBA by the OBA President Dr Ang Peng Tiam.
Dr Ang also took the opportunity to express the OBA’s gratitude to
Tan Sri Tan for his support of the ACS Schools and OBA initiatives
by giving him a special OBA membership card, and to wish him well on
his 97th birthday.

Tan Sri Tan, a former
OBA President himself, encouraged the OBA to do more for the
teachers and old boys and donated $10,000 to the Teachers’ Welfare
Fund in recognition of the $20,000 already raised by the OBA. He
also pledged another $20,000 to match the next $40,000 raised by the
OBA.
