The Staff Dedication
Service brought together staff members from all the five schools of the ACS family. Held in the ACS (Barker Road) campus on 03 January, this
simple, yet significant event signifies the unity of purpose that exists
      within the ACS family.

      Throughout the service,
pastors and principals from each of the schools were at the helm in
various ways, leading the congregation in worship, scripture reading, and
      prayer.

      Mr Tan Wah Thong,
Chairman of the Board of Governors, spoke about the impressive facilities
and strong infrastructure that the ACS schools already had in place and
encouraged the schools to strive towards maintaining a high standard of
education for their students.   He reiterated that
the quality of education was not merely determined by the brick and
mortar of a school, but by the spirit and quality of its teachers.

      Bishop Dr Robert Solomon
delivered an insightful message on, ‘The Habits Of A Survivor’. Drawing
from the biblical portrait of Jacob, he explained how Jacob who initially
lived his life with a ‘survivalist mindset’, governed primarily by a
competitive spirit and frantic self-defensive strategies, later became
transformed by God to adopt a ‘redemption mindset’. This new-found
paradigm enabled Jacob to live a more purposeful and enriched life, one
which was carried by divine grace and constant prayer.  On the same note,
Dr Solomon urged all ACS staff to put their trust
in God and to depend on Him as they pursue their vocation in teaching.

      Despite the many demands
and challenges facing us, the new year definitely took off to a good
start, as God’s faithfulness promises to guide each school as it forges
      ahead.
