Oldham Club is the sports and social/
community outreach arm of the ACS OBA
to provide a sports and social perspective
within the ACS family. In the short four
years since its formation, it has made its
presence felt in Singapore’s sporting scene,
not only in terms of sports excellence but
also in the manner in which our boys
conduct themselves on and off the field/
courts/pools.
Briefly, the main objectives of the Club
are for ACS Old Boys and Girls to
mentor and guide our younger wards
in the values and tradition of an ACS
upbringing, and provide opportunities
for participation in friendly games or, like
many of our Chapters, play competitively
in National Leagues. We also offer our
present students the opportunity to play at
a higher level with our Old Boys, many of
whom are national and ex-national players
and athletes. This exposure and mentoring
has indeed produced wonderful sporting
results in all our six ACS schools this year.
Furthermore, we hope to reach out and
serve our society through our various
programmes and initiatives.
The Principals of all the ACS schools have
been most supportive of Oldham Club
and we would like to express our deep
gratitude to them for their encouragement,
especially to the Principals of ACS
(Independent), ACS (Barker Road) and
ACJC for allowing us to use their facilities.
Oldham Club welcomes everyone from our
Alumni, either to play the sports, to coach,
to administer, to mentor or just to be part
of the community. We currently have six
chapters – Badminton, Hockey, Rugby,
Squash, Tennis and Water Polo – and
expect more new chapters to be formed.
These chapters need not only be sports
related, but can be activity and community
based. All that is needed is a group of
dedicated, like-minded alumni to manage
and lead the chapters.
If you there is any interest in
joining Oldham Club or be involved in
our activities, please email to
yt.low@aes-asia.com or contact one
of the Office Bearers/Chapter Heads (see
Oldham Club contacts below).
