After a very successful “When we’re 64!” party to commemorate their 64th birthday last year, the ACS Class of 64 cohort gathered together again recently, this time to celebrate their Class 48th Anniversary. Held on 20 July at The China Club, the reunion was attended by 32.
As always at such reunions, a great time was had by all at the celebrations. Fellow classmate and social entrepreneur
Robert Kee Chin Swee delivered an informative and inspirational speech entitled “Be
careful with your Charity Dollars”. Robert is the President of the locally-owned Hope Foundation and we are indeed proud of his noble work building homes, setting up orphanages and providing medical services to Cambodian families.
Among those present at the celebrations were our die hard regulars
Chen Wei Ching, Chee Pek Khan,
Tan Hooi Hwa, S. Thevatheson (our regular donor who supplied our Class of 64 T-shirts) and Steven Chew who lives in New York and is a
frequent visitor to Singapore. And of course there were ‘choirmaster’ Chelva Rajah to lead us in the singing of the ACS Anthem and
Roland Ma the man behind the organization of our get-togethers.
Everyone present had a great time, especially those who turned 65 this year; we also took the opportunity to acknowledge ‘first time’ and ‘many times’ grandfathers!
Our cohort now looks forward to our
next reunion, especially to our Golden
Anniversary in 2014 when we will be 67!
