ACS (International) will be hosting a Gala Dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel on 14 October 2011 to raise $1 million towards the design and construction of a new building for the school’s library. The new library with state-of-the-art facilities and improved resources including online journals, books and reference materials, will also offer wireless network, a café and more computer terminals to create an environment conducive for research and study.

The fund-raising event has been named “Kaleidoscope” to reflect the multi-talented and cultural fusions of the school’s community to realise this dream. Highlights of the entertaining evening include:

• Donne Ray, the former lead singer and tenor of the Platters (1986-1992),

•  Rhythms of African and Brazilian drumming and dance moves by the students of ACS International,

• Classical and folk music by the school’s String and Guitar ensembles.
