Come
this 22 August, the spotlight will be on ACS old boy Lee Mun
Wai when he takes on the Esplanade’s main theatre with The
Human Expression (T.H.E.) Dance Company, one of Singapore’s
leading contemporary dance companies.
A
true-blue ACSian, Mun Wai graduated from ACJC in 2000.
Instead of continuing his studies at the National University
of Singapore, he went on to pursue dance at LaSalle College
of the Arts and the prestigious Hong Kong Academy for
Performing Arts, both under local and foreign scholarships.
He is a founding member of T.H.E Dance Company, which was
founded in 2008 by artistic director Kuik Swee Boon, former
principal dancer with the Compania Nacional de Danza (Spain)
and the Singapore Dance Theatre. |

In a short span of
time, T.H.E Dance Company has established itself as one of
the most exciting local contemporary dance companies, having
performed several full-length dances at major venues and
local art festivals. They will celebrate their first
anniversary at the Esplanade Theatre on 22 August in grand
fashion by putting up their biggest production to date:
SILENCE - T.H.E First
Anniversary,
a moving work
that deals with communication breakdown in today’s society.
