Arthur Yap Honoured by NUS
Arthur Yap Hock Seng
(ACS Class of 1957) was recently honoured by the National
University of Singapore (NUS).
Now settled in Vancouver, Canada,
Arthur was in Singapore to receive the
Distinguished Alumni Service Award
2007 for his "unwavering
dedication and steadfast support for the University
through the NUS Alumni Association in British Columbia,
Canada, over the years and the Alumni Advisory Board".
|
A true blue ACSian, Arthur is
currently the Chairman of the NUS Alumni Chapter in
Vancouver, British Columbia.
When we spoke to Arthur, he paid
tribute to ACS and expressed his amazement at how big the
ACS family has grown since his time in school.
According to him, “My solid good
Christian education in ACS prepared me for my further
education in NUS and for life's journey in Singapore,
Canada and life overseas. ACS moulded my character and
prepared me for life in general after school. ACS also
encouraged us to have "Mans sana incorpore sano", a sound
mind in a sound body”. |
