ACS Boards
Since its formation
in 1955, the ACS Board of Governors has played an important role
in the affairs of the ACS family of schools. With the support of the
Methodist Church in Singapore, the Board has largely been
responsible for the school’s impressive growth to the present family of
six schools with a population of more than 8,000 students.
Besides
administrative matters such as staffing, budgeting and fund raising, the
Board has the authority to formulate general policies for the
Schools in line with the aims and policies of the Ministry of Education
and the Methodist Church in Singapore.
The formation of ACS
(Independent) and more recently ACS (International) saw the
appointment of governing bodies known as the Board of Management.
The ACS (Independent) Board of
Management is appointed by the ACS Board of Governors, whilst the
ACS (International) Board of Management by the ACS (International)
Board of Directors.
Both these Boards of Management are
entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that the Christian
character of the School is preserved, that the vision and mission of the
Methodist Church in Singapore and the national policies set by the
Ministry of Education are fulfilled.
